Hello! My name is Chris Deeks, and I was Authorised as a Marriage Celebrant in May 2026 so while I have not been a celebrant for very long I do have quite a lot of life experience. I am 62 years of age and have been married to Barbara for 40 years. My wife and I have been blessed with a very happy marriage, partly because we commited to always working on our relationship and have never felt that divorce was an option for us.

I have four children – 2 girls and twin boys. Both my daughters are happily married now to their second husbands. The girls have blessed us with 8 grandchildren between them. My boys are both single and do not have partners or children.

While Barbara and I have had a very happy marriage it has not been without its speed humps. Our relationship is based on mutual trust and respect. We communicate openly with each other and seek to resolve problems as quickly as possible. We are both empaths and are good at grasping the others point of view.

I would hope that during our time together I can plant some seeds which will grow into strong foundations for your married life together. I feel that my responsibility to you does not end with the “I dos” but extends after the honeymoon and I will always be just a phone call away to offer any support that I can.
